portfolio website

For some months i am also working on my portfolio website. In the past i already made a view designs. But these designs never really gave the right impression of me and my work. So this time i really looked at my own personality and style. So i hope this time i will feel good about the design. Here is a picture of the idea for my website. Its my own photographs. I also used my own textures and paint stain brushes.

sketches - new and old

Well i had a view busy weeks so thats why i haven't posted for a while. I finally scanned some old and new sketches. going to color them later and make a storyboard about the intro of the animation. I decided to focus on only the intro because i would like to experiment a bit with animating and adding depth. Here are the sketches:

Hopefully i soon got more time to work on more sketches. And also to color some of the drawings in photoshop or illustrator. ^_^

This is another bubblegum girl sketch its cute but it doesn't got my preference. I like the strawberrycap hat and the outfit thou ^_^

BubbleGirl and the Squidkid

The animation I'm going to make will be about an antihero. The 2 are bubbleGirl and Squidkid.


Bubblegirl is about a girl who becomes a superhero. Her superpowers is that she got the power of...Dum...Dum...Dum...Duuuum... bubblegum. She's pink powerful and deadly. Ah well not real deadly :P just tough and sticky

Squidkid will be a boy or girl who doesn't got hair but tentacles on the head. He/She can spout inkt in the oponents face and knock with the powerfull tentakels. Squidkid is real fast and can grab and stick on thing with the tentacles.

Weely Clapy Englis

You may have noticed that my English isn't that great. And also my sentences aren't always correctly English. My may have guest it but my first language is Dutch.

So Yep, have to work on my English skills to.

@ school the teachers asked us to also work on a group project. So we decided to also make a animation as group. This whole project and progress can be found on the animationinsideout blog.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger...

So i post a little message on a artistic/community forum that i would love to make some drawings of peoples avatars. The same day i got so many responses of people who would love to have a drawing of there avatar that i stopped the post. The people could choose between a drawing of only the head, bust or full body and if they wanted it in sketch, line-art or colored.

Why did i post on the forum?
well i can always use some criticism on my work by other people. But most important of it all i want to get better. For the animation i need to work faster and make clean art. It is also a good way to experiment with different styles, colors, tools etc.

english blog

So my dear Mike says that i should make an English blog. so that what I'm doing now. My English is still real rusty haven't written this much English in ages. The previous school wasn't focusing on our English at all. We learned Deutsch the horror.
Anyway I'm starting on an animation project and i have a small idea what i want to make. still need to make a lot of sketches and figure out a new style. Most of my ideas are stil in my head and none or view on paper. So i should do that first and also scan all the sketches to post them on this lovely blog.
I worked on my skills and speed this summer. I asked on a forum if there where people who wanted an drawn avatar. And so within a day i had already 6 people who wanted an drawing of there favorite avatar. There was so much intrest in a drawing of there avatar i closed the post for a while. i still have some avatars to do and it realy helped me to draw faster and also to experiment with difrent poses and styles.

Nieuwe blog

Rond 25 Augustus 2008 zal ik starten met een animatie project. Er moet nog veel gebeuren. In mijn dummie (schetsboek) heb ik al een aantal schetsen gemaakt. Maar dit is nog lang niet genoeg. Ook heb ik nog geen verhaal op papier, en zal dus binnenkort beginnen met de grote lijnen op papier zetten.
Aan de hand van de schetsen en het verhaal zal ik beginnen met een ruw storyboard te schetsen.

Wat moet er voor 25 augustus af zijn:
- karakter schetsen
- omgeving schetsen
- storyboard
- scenario/script
- sfeerbeelden
